BELGRADE – Two drivers suffered multiple injuries Tuesday morning when their vehicles hit Manchester Road in Belgrade head-on, officials said.
A Chevrolet Cruze SUV and sedan collided around 9:30 a.m. on a curved area of ââState Route 135, north of Bartlett Road.
Belgrade Fire & Rescue rescuers removed the drivers from the vehicles. The drivers were then taken to hospital, police said.
The road remained closed for several hours after the crash as police reconstructed the collision.
Officials said Tuesday afternoon they did not know the extent of the driver injuries.
Staff Sgt. Frank Hatch of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday he had no further information about the crash.
