The National Day ceremony at Al Wasl Plaza included a special musical performance by internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning violinist, Stefan Milenkovich and his string virtuoso, Team Serbia. This was followed by an artistic performance of traditional folk music and dance, showcasing the cultural heritage of different ethnic groups, performed by the Kolo Dance Ensemble.

Later, a business briefing highlighted Serbia’s investment opportunities in biotechnology, agribusiness and information and communication technology (ICT).

Speaking at a press conference for local and international press, Her Excellency Ana Ilić, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism and Deputy Commissioner General for Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “We had here more than 1,000 businessmen and companies from abroad. , and they were extremely happy with the way things were organized and the impact they were having on countries around the world. Through Expo 2020 Dubai itself, we were also able to connect with countries through other Commissioners General and B2B meetings. More than 70 countries have met with us over the past few months. Expo 2020 Dubai has exceeded our expectations, and we are preparing to take advantage of all the opportunities of this Expo which has been more than we could have hoped for.

Ideas and innovations are the main themes of the Serbia pavilion, located in the Expo’s Mobility District. The pavilion attracted more than 700,000 visitors and more than 100 innovative products and projects were presented by Serbia’s business program. The Balkan Republic has signed more than 15 commercial and pre-commercial contracts in the tourism, real estate, wellness, automotive, agriculture and technology sectors.

The celebrations will continue throughout the day and into the evening at the Serbia Pavilion, with performances by world-renowned accordion maestro Petar Maric and the Kolo folk dance ensemble, as well as a music concert film, “Balkan Cinema Acoustics” by actress Jelena Gavrilovic and musician Aleksandra Milutinovic, crowned by a medley of music by DJ Emina.

National and Honor Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are moments to celebrate each of the more than 200 international participants of Expo 2020, highlighting their culture and achievements and showcasing their pavilions and programming.

Through March 31, 2022, Expo 2020 has invited visitors from around the world to join in creating a new world in a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and growth. culture.
